While most butterflies are symbols of change, transformation and hope through the pattern of their life cycle. The monarch in particular has significant royal meaning, hence her name. Some cultures believe the monarch represents the souls of dead loved ones. In some literature the monarch is symbolic of memory, migration and the importance of passing knowledge of lived experiences from generation to generation. Either way all these representations I think can be interpreted as a gift, the gift of knowledge or a gift from passed loved ones. The triangle is the grounding connection – to faith or the process of a life cycle.
