While the lion symbolizes many qualities, the lion predominately to me is the symbol of courage. Being an extreme introvert courage is not a quality that comes naturally to me and often something I need to push myself to work on regularly.
All the creatures in my work symbolize qualities in life, while we like to summon the courage and strength of a lion we also require balance of values – vulnerability of a foal, inquisitiveness and curiosity of a meerkat. United as a herd or a community we embrace all our qualities and differences, there we find peace and harmony.
