The Museum Ceiling

The Museum Ceiling

20 Point Stag skull – It is very rare to acquire such a large piece as stag heads are often kept by hunters as trophies for their successful hunt. This very large piece was inspired by a recent visit to the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. We had to wait two hours to enter an exhibition, all this time waiting I was fascinated by the stained glass ceiling by the late artist Leonard French which is the largest stained glass ceiling in the world. I wanted to capture some of the grandness from this to one of my skulls, thousands of rhinestones have been placed on the skull to mimic the beautiful light that shone through the coloured glass and dances as you walk around it.
